The CEO of Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC) announced here that the company has managed to produce high-density polyethylene grade used for manufacturing automotive fuel tanks.

Speaking at a news conference on the sidelines of closing day of the 13th annual Iran’s International Exhibition of Plastic, Rubber, Machinery, and Equipment (IRAN PLAST 2019) in Tehran, CEO of Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC) Amir Hossein Bahreini said: “ASPC has succeeded to produce industrially the special grade of high-density polyethylene used for manufacturing automotive fuel tanks utilizing a new and modern catalyst, which has been resulted in the country’s progress in research and development in this field.”

Bahreini added that ASPC is the first Iranian company which has managed to manufacture this product complying with strict standards of the automotive industry.

He also added that the new high-density polyethylene product, named HBM 4261 A, is precisely an equivalent for Lupolen 4261 AG grade of LyondellBasell – which is appropriate for manufacturing automotive fuel tanks.

“This product is a very serious rival for MS201 BN-NA, the grade of Total Company in the international markets,” Bahreini said, adding that HBM 4261 A is a specialized product in the polyethylene industry which is being used for producing car fuel tanks and manufacturing 1000-liters plastic containers IBC-Tank used for carrying liquid chemical substances.

Bahreini went on to say: “HBM 4261 A polyethylene grade is produced using Phillips and comonomer 1-hexene during the single reactor gas phase and ASPC is the sole Iranian company which is equipped with this catalyst and comonomer system. The unique physical and mechanical specifications and very high durability of the manufactured products are advantages of using this grade.

Referring to the company’s development plans for the future, the managing director of ASPC said: “The final phase of the project for increasing the Cracker plant’s production capacity will come on stream in the month October, and the Cracker output will increase up to one hundred thousand tons.” He also said that a new high-density polyethylene production plant with a capacity of 300,000 tons will be established in the complex with the aim of achieving maximum added value in the consumption of surplus Ethylene in the complex and producing new generation polyethylene products using metallocene catalyst.

With a production capacity of 1.7 million tons of ethylene, C3 and polyethylene (low density, medium, and high density) ASPC is a giant Iranian polymer producer reputable in the country’s petrochemical industry located in Pars Special Economic Zone in Assaluyeh. Increasing production capacity, reducing production costs, and diversifying products, ASPC managed to rank first in sale revenue (profit/sales), among Iran’s top petrochemical companies in the IMI-100 rating in the Iranian calendar year of 1397 (March 2018-March 2019) for the second consecutive year.

The 13th annual Iran’s International Exhibition of Plastic, Rubber, Machinery and Equipment (IRAN PLAST 2019) was held at the Tehran Permanent International Fairground with the goal of improving business environment for petrochemical processing industries with an approach toward introducing investment opportunities and under the slogan of “expansion of international business” in the four categories of raw materials; finished and semi-finished products; machinery and equipment; and services.
