ASPC’s Team of Firefighters shines at WFG 2022 in Portugal
Team of firefighters of Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC) won 5 gold and 5 silver medals on Friday (May 6, 2022) in the 14th edition of the World Firefighters Games 2022 (April 30 –May 7) which was held in Lisbon, Portugal with 50 teams in participation from across the globe.
During the event, Ali Jahan’bakhsh won 2 gold medals in discus and hammer throws while he also secured 2 silver medals in shot put and 4×100 meters relay.
In the 100-meter dash, Mohammad Hassan’zadeh won a silver medal and this comes as Mostafa Khosravi won 2 gold medals in the long and triple jumps.
Ali Ghasemi, elsewhere, won a gold medal in the 400 meters hurdles, a bronze medal in the high jump, as well as a silver medal in medal 4×100 meters relay.
The World Firefighters Games is an international sporting event that welcomes all full-time, part-time, volunteer, retired, structural and bush firefighters, fire service support personnel, aviation fire services, military emergency response personnel, and their immediate direct family from all across the globe.
The games are held biennially in different countries and offer more than 50 different sports and challenges including archery, rugby sevens, windsurfing, poker, swimming, athletics, and softball, with the “Toughest Firefighter Alive” being the blue riband event.
