ASPC has been a pioneer among Iranian petrochemical companies owing to extensive adoption of IT services and highly qualified experts specializing in provision, supply and maintenance of IT services. With a global approach and regional performance, the ASPC’s planning and Information Management Department has been striving to efficiently and effectively implement the optimum IT standards, experiences and solutions in the petrochemical industry by taking the requirements of the company into account. Accordingly, this department has been structured in a way that IT management and services are realized based on the latest global standards such as ITIL and COBIT. On top of the Planning and Information Management Department stands the manager, who provides reports to the CEO based on the organizational chart approved by the Board of Directors. The manager is in charge of all responsibilities concerning the ICT resources. Called Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position is supposed to utilize information technology to facilitate and support the realization of organizational goals. Additionally, it serves to outline appropriate executive goals and plans in line with the implementation of macro-scale organizational strategies for its administrative division. The Planning and Information Manager will approve projects and technical modifications to the company's information management fields, while remaining fully responsive to integration of services, accessibility and security of corporate data. Under the supervision of Planning and Information Manager, there are four specialized divisions each responsible for part of the company's requirements and realization of goals set in the Information Management Department. The next section will explore the divisions, their areas of expertise as well as the achievements gained in recent years.
Infrastructure Division
It is responsible for testing, developing and maintaining infrastructure in data center and network. The scope of activity for Infrastructure Division includes but not limited to the following:

- Fiber-optic network
- Virtualization Infrastructure
- Warehousing systems
- Telecommunication systems (non-wireless)

Applications Division
It is responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance of applications and organizational information systems. The scope of activity for Applications Division includes but not limited to the following:

- Business Process Management System (BPMS)
- Internal portal solution based on SharePoint
- Enterprise databases
- Administrative dashboard

Support Division
It functions as a communications center for the ICT department. The Support Division is considered the only contact point for users to record, track, and respond to requests, and to repair or deliver tools. Moreover, it serves to provide real-time, efficient service to organizational users at any time in accordance with the preset agreements and contracts. In order to provide better services, the Support Division pursues the ITIL optimization practices. A few key achievements of the Support Division:

Governance, Risk and Compliance Division
It is responsible for monitoring ICT processes through creation and maintenance of IT management systems including the following.

- Deployment of Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) for Information Technology
- IT Project Management Office (PMO)
- ICT budget and purchase requests management
- Storage and circulation of goods

System and Strategic Studies Division
It is responsible for planning and strategic studies as well as managing and monitoring the business processes. The System and Strategic Studies Division functions as the administrative arm in order to set goals, monitor and ensure the company's progress toward the goals. The scope of activity for System and Strategic Studies Division includes:
- Deploying, auditing and monitoring of the integrated management system (IMS)
- Devising corporate strategic plans and periodic monitoring
- Studying and formulating the necessary documents for the company to participate in the Business Excellence Award (excellence in the petrochemical industry and EFQM)
- Business process study, modeling and monitoring
- Goal-setting and measurement of key business indicators
